My name is Karen Robinson. I am an artist based in South Cambridgeshire.

I started to paint in lockdown, inspired by a friend to try acrylic pouring. As a person with Parkinson’s Disease, I have had to give up some of the things I love such as driving, acting and dancing. I can’t hold a paintbrush but I have found new joy and self expression in the simple act of pouring, tipping, spinning and swinging paint.

I find inspiration in the paint itself. The real artist is the paint, conjuring up all manner of characters, scenery, juxtapositions, thoughts and ideas. No two paintings are ever the same. Paint has a life of its own, running its own course, inviting interest and your imagination. My role is to prepare and advise the paint an appropriate course of action. I am its facilitator.
